Trip 2 Day 8 Paris

Holy cats and dogs does Paris get busy during the Easter weekend. The entire city was a madhouse. There were large crowds of people everywhere. That didn't stop us though. We had 1 day and 1 city so it was a do or die situation. Either we saw it or we didn't. We started out quickly, seeing the Louvre first. Because of the lines at most of these places we didn't attempt to go in because it was just not plausible. With the time we had it would not have made sense to try to get inside each one of them. The Louvre would have been cool but simply no time. Following that was the famous Notre Dame. This year was it's 850th anniversary, which was pretty cool. We were even in there during the Coronation of the Cross. It was interesting to see, even though I did not take part. After Notre Dame came the Catacombs. We wanted to go inside but again the lines were too long. Some people had been waiting in line for nearly 3 hours. We just did not have the time to go inside. The next stop on our tour de France was the Arc de Triomphe. I knew the iconic arc when I saw it, but I was amazed at how massive the structure actually was. I didn't really realize that. One cannot go to Paris without seeing the Eiffel Tower. That, of course, was our next stop. The lines there were so ridiculous that we did not even attempt them. It was unfortunate but still. Lastly on our way back to the train station we saw the Moulin Rouge. I figured if in Paris, might as well take a picture of it. Shortly after our train left and we were speeding off to Munich.
