Trip 2 Day 4 Brussels

Most of the day was spent traveling. We started out in Berlin and early in the morning began making our way across Germany. All was going well until we happened to get on a French train... Then we wound up having to pay through the nose to be able to ride that train. To make it worse, we kept being forced out of our seats because others had reserved the seats we were in. To make it worse they dropped us off at the station in Brussels where it is difficult to understand the signs and it was not where we needed to go. After some running around we did make out way over to the correct station by catching another quick train and eventually to our hotel. Once we dropped our luggage we figured we might as well not waste the rest of the day and see Brussels a bit. A short walk to the Cathedral, the Royal Palace, the Grand Palace and, of course, Mannekin Pis were a decent way to cap off an unlucky day. Tomorrow we move south, seeing the historic battlefield of Bastogne. That is one of the places in Europe I was bound and determined to see, and tomorrow it is going to happen. I am very excited.
