Trip Day 3 Munich Part 2

After a short amount of sleep, about 3 hours, we all got up to get out of our hostel and see the rest of the city. Today we had some big plans. We wanted to see Dachau, the Olympic grounds, and the BMW museum. We ate our breakfast and managed to the the glockenspiel chime on the Rathaus tower. That was quite interesting. We made our way to the train station and got on a tram that would take us to Dachau. Once we got there we realized our mistake. Many of the tourist attractions Europe are not open on Mondays. That is because they stay open on Sundays to accommodate the tourists that are traveling. When we got to the Dachau, we noticed that it was closed for the day and we had rode the train there for nothing. But we could not let the day be wasted, so we caught the next train back and made our way to the BMW museum. That was a lot of fun. we did not go into the actual museum, but rather just walked around the showroom. There were plenty of nice cars to admire, some of which I even knew about. Because the weather was pretty bad, we stayed there for a while because it was warm and dry but we could only stay there so long because we didn't want to waste the day, so following that we went to the Olympic grounds. That was relatively interesting, but not a great deal. Something worth seeing at least, especially because it was free. Afterwards we headed back to Marianplatz,  decided to climb the tower on St Peters church. After 366 stairs to the top, we got a great view of Munich. Although the weather was somewhat bad, it was still a fun time. Following that I bought my first souvenir of the trip, a pewter Stein. It was a bit expensive, but I have always wanted one and it looked so cool. We still had a couple hours until the train was to leave from the station and we didn't know where to go. We couldn't visit any museums because they were closed for the evening and we were quite hungry. Ultimately we decided to go back to the Hofbrau house. There we met a Swedish group that makes skiing gloves. We talked and had a good time with them until it was ultimately time to leave. Finally we boarded the train to Brussels and our time in Munich was done.
